The Second Coming

Morning all, the Sheriff is here, he's back, he's bad and he means business.

Well, not quite, but I am aiming to make a more frequent return to the blogging world and thus provide you with my insightful and articulate musings on a host of critical issues.

As you can see there have been some adjustments to the blog. Only minor ones, however, with just the odd bit of sprucing up to differentiate between the new and improved, sexy and sassy Callum and not the old, revolting, grossly-overweight, perennially-miserable one that we all knew and despised. The title of the 'fat miserable Dover fan' is now redundant and from here onwards we can move forward.

I never got around to completing the last blog I published - detailing my groundhopping excursions from last season so there's a bit of unfinished business to complete there. Especially as some of my experiences warrant being written down in essay form - I still haven't even touched upon the absolutely insane Krakow derby that I had the fortune of attending back in February. And that's just one of many foreign footballing experiences I've had this year - I have also watched games in Prague, Brugge, Lille with games to follow in Bratislava and Vienna at the end of this week. There might just well be the odd few of you of reading out there who are intrigued enough to read up upon and try and grasp why myself and my socially inept friends jet off across Europe and spend our time watching football in substandard leagues.
So at some point I'll get around to writing articles of certain games - and try and keep it a bit more organised by hyperlinking such games into my 'grounds visited' section of the site.

Here are a few article ideas I have planned for the coming weeks;

  • My annual season preview. And this time I don't have to pretend I know the names of Concord Rovers's 2nd choice centre back pairing. I can offer my opinion of Bristol Rovers chances of escaping the non-league hellhole rather than begrudgingly tipping Boreham Wood to be the 'surprise package'. For once I can forget that places like Borehamwood actually exist.
  • My sizeable weight loss in 2014. I've been asked so many times about it that it would be much better if I just gave a detailed explanation than my usual half-arsed, nervously shy response of "eat healthily, exercise more".
  • The Krakow Derby
  • A guest blog from my poignant friend Stuart Nichols, who overcame terrible adversity to become the most respected person involved at Barrow AFC.
So yeah, there is lots to *look forward to I'm sure guys.

*I'm not really that much of an egotistical bellend. I am a bellend, but I also possess a necessary amount of self-awareness to know that I am not Charles Dickens. I am a no-hoper, amateur writer with a basic, passable grasp of the English language who is just about capable of entertaining a few of his mates with his cliquey, cliche-ridden blogs, which are a minefield for grammatical atrocities.
