Stadium Tour: San Siro
AC Milan / Inter Milan
€17 (Tour + Museum)
What a complete waste of 17 euros. Absolutely abysmal. As
one of the world’s most iconic stadiums and me being a weird groundhopping nut, of
course it was natural for me to want to tag along to the San Siro during my 2
day stint in Milan. But this was by far away the worst stadium tour I have ever undertaken. Incredibly overpriced, a tiny museum that nowhere near serves
justice to the history of two of the biggest names in worldwide football, no
guide, and no upper tier views, just a small pathway along the side of the main
stand. Awful.
I have to say I was completely underwhelmed by the San Siro in general. It felt nowhere near an 80,000 capacity in size, the seat colour coordination is ugly, and the stadium seems to be situated in a soulless area of the city with no signs of identity to either of the clubs. The roof structure was impressive, but that’s about it.
It might come alive on matchdays, I know that’s a completely different kettle of fish, but I’m in absolutely no Ian Rush to ever come back.
