Ground Number #240: Butlin Road
Tuesday 6th December 2016
Rugby Town 0-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers (U23)
Birmingham Senior Cup
Attendance: 115
Admission: £5 (Concession)
I'd been looking to tick this one off for a long time, being reasonably close to Leicester. It's a remarkably decent ground for a non-league step four club. Really, really smart, with cover on all four sides. Wouldn't look out of place in the Conference. But Rugby don't really seem to have any sort of fanbase to warrant such a splendid ground, crowds fluctuating around the 100-250 mark.
Thanks to London Midland's usual incompetence and fuckwittery, I had to dash to the station thirty minutes before the final whistle, missing Wolves's final goal, and making a total mockery out of my £10 train fare to get here.
Also, chip butty with piripiri sauce = bits.
